The Kirkintilloch Men’s Shed an opportunity for men out of work or retired to come together, share skills and experience. It’s a great social gathering that gets you working physically with tools and mentally by sharing stories with friends over a cup of tea or by planning your next project.

We’re a community run program that sits independently from any other organisation. We receive funding from the national lottery, businesses, groups, the community and individuals.

Everything we do, we do with a purpose to help make a difference to each other’s lives, loved ones or the community.

The Kirkintilloch Men’s Shed is a place to:
Work and relax  |  Pursue hobbies and pastimes  |  Share skills  |  Have a cuppa and a chat  |  Get out of the house for a while  |  Get practical help with your projects

The Kirkintilloch Men’s Shed is what you make it. We’re informal, relaxed and friendly.

You can repair and make things, drop in for a chat, use the social area to read, relax and put the world to rights.  There are no set activities but we’re always busy tinkering away in the workshop. If you’ve got a project in mind then we’re always looking for projects to get involved in.

There’s no joining fee but we do have a set of principles as some of the machines are dangerous.

Above all, we try to get away from the shed from time to time. This can be on day trips so it’s another great excuse to join. Therefore what’s stopping you? Come in and have a cuppa, we look forward to seeing you soon.

See the  ‘Join’ section to find out more.

Can I work on my own projects? Yes, we encourage creativity. You will need to provide your own materials and take away any waste.

Is it only for retired men? No, Kirkintilloch Men’s Shed is for men of all ages who want to enjoy life a bit more.

What about safety? You can only use tools & machines after you have been trained and checked for competence. We have strict safety procedures in place.

Is the premises wheel-chair friendly? Yes, there are ramps available for easy access.

What’s the process to join? You’ll need to complete an application form, these can be collected from the Kirkintilloch Men’s Shed.

“To see my dad getting out, spending time with people he can relax with, laugh with and work with makes me so happy. So proud of him”
